Chief Operations Officer

Mark Hoosein announced as new CEO for ACSA

Tammy Hawkins, Chief Operations Officer, leads the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) operations team. She has served ACSA in multiple areas, including quality assurance, classroom training, and Director of Learning Services.

Before making a career move to health and safety, Tammy spent 20 years in Education. She worked with NorQuest College, mostly teaching Business, English and Life Skills at various urban and rural northern locations. Tammy then established her own health, safety, and environment (HSE) consulting business, providing HSE solutions throughout the Alberta construction industry. At the same time, she worked as a contract trainer and consultant auditor for ACSA. In 2010, she left her consulting business to join ACSA full-time.

Tammy’s diverse background, business knowledge and passion for HSE enabled her to lead a team that develops and delivers outstanding services, solutions and membership experiences that advance ACSA’s vision of Lives lived safely.

Today, Tammy has an array of accomplishments and certifications supporting her position as a construction safety industry leader. However, she is most proud of her ongoing partnerships with stakeholders and her community volunteering, helping Albertans who experience barriers to employment.

Tammy enjoys hosting close friends for games nights and sharing her ready Nova Scotian humour, when not at work or travelling with her adult children. She’s also a pretty decent baker.
