In December 2022, Your Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) achieved a new milestone of over 20,000 registrations for our virtual instructor-led training in one year!
When the pandemic hit in 2020, we transitioned many of our health and safety training courses from in-person to our remote learning environment. These virtual instructor-led training courses (vILTs) allowed us to continue providing stakeholders with live, interactive and engaging experiences, enabling much needed connections with both instructors and other participants.
Positive feedback prompted us to continue expanding our virtual offerings. The most popular vILT courses in 2022 were Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE), Joint Health and Safety Committee/Representative (HSCR), and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Legislation Awareness (LEG).
ACSA is honoured to partner with the construction industry in delivering quality safety training for leaders, workers, and health and safety professionals in Alberta and beyond.
“A critical element in achieving our Vision of Lives Lived Safely is in providing exceptional health and safety training and programs that lead to safer lives, at work and at play,” says Tammy Hawkins, ACSA Chief Operations Officer.
“Ease of access is key to ensuring a meaningful impact on workplace health and safety in all corners of the province. Participant response for our delivery methods and platform has been overwhelmingly positive, reaffirming that our efforts are paying off. We receive feedback through surveys, phone calls, and emails imploring us to never stop delivering virtual instructor-led training,” says Hawkins.
In 2022, Your ACSA re-introduced in-person learning opportunities to support students who prefer an in-person classroom setting. Where demand allows, select in-person courses are being offered at ACSA’s various Alberta locations.
