Human Rights Legislation and Safety Legislation do not always work harmoniously together. When conflict occurs, one must be careful to achieve the safety objective with a minimal impact to fundamental human rights. This two-day seminar, hosted by the University of Alberta and conducted by Mark Greene, will discuss the major areas of conflict and will also acquaint you with the Human Rights Process and discuss strategies to ensure that you and your company are complying with the legislation.
Mark is a member of Alberta Justice’s Central Legal Services Division, where he is the lead civil law lawyer for Occupational Health and Safety. In addition, he provides advice to many government departments in respect to occupational health and safety issues, and teaches Health and Safety Legislation at the University of Alberta.
