A & R Safety is currently seeking a Health and Safety Representative to work full time/part time to support us in safety compliance and safety management on our upcoming on-site projects. The ideal candidate must possess 1-3 years experience in health and safety, experienced in writing and creating JHAs, SWPs, SJPs, and HSE plans, setting up/ maintain a COR certification.

18 years or older
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is considered an asset
NCSO is an asset or working towards the NCSO certification
Driver’s licence (Must)
Major Areas of Responsibilities:

Monitor Company compliance to the Occupational, Health & Safety legislation and other applicable provincial and federal legislation and Standards.
Promote the principles of safe work and encourage participation in safety initiatives.
Monitoring overall safety management system performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Conduct/facilitate safety orientations.
Regularly inspect premises for hazards.
·        Setting up/ maintain a COR certification.

Primary Objectives:

Interact with trades on site; build and maintain positive relationships
Seek out opportunities for professional development within the scope of the position
Provide safety leadership, coaching and mentoring to workers, when required
Professionally interact with clients in a proactive and when necessary, a reactive approach related to safety
Conduct/participate in safety meetings, toolbox meetings, joint health & safety committee meetings, when required
Assist the Safety Manager to perform/facilitate incident/accident investigation, analysis, recommendations; reports and feedback
Maintain a knowledge of current safety issues and changing regulations and legislation.
Assess and evaluate the work environment to identify potential hazards and ensure that corrective controls are in place to prevent or remove hazards
Ensure the development of and on-going use of work site hazard identification, analysis and hazard control.
Assist with and or Administer WCB worker injury, employer reports and modified work program.
Promote the principles of safe work and encourage participation in Company safety initiatives.
Conduct site inspections at Field Sites, where required
