The Position

IRISNDT requires two (2) Field Safety Officers one day shift and one night shift, for temporary, Calgary based positions from August 2022 to October 2022.  Hotel and daily per diem provided for non-Calgary locals.  Details regarding schedule are below

Reporting to the Canadian Corporate Safety Officer, the Field Safety Officer will, through field audits, interactions and record audits, ensure that the company and its workers are compliant with all legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as ensuring compliance with IRISNDT’s policies and procedures.  The Field Safety Officer will promote positive safety attitudes and safe work practices throughout the worksite.

Schedule

Expected onsite start date August 17, 2022, with an expected end date of October 17, 2022.

Shifts are 6 on, 1 off, 10 hours on site per day.

Travel can be provided to Calgary.

Responsibilities

Carry out field audits on all on-site IRISNDT employees.

Report audit findings to the Canadian Corporate Safety Officer.

Work with limited supervision.

Support operations with sound and unbiased direction.

The Individual

Minimum 2 years as a safety professional (plant experience preferred).

Current valid NCSO.

Current safety certifications: First Aid, WHMIS, CSE, CSTS, Fall Pro.

Rope access experience/certification would be considered an asset.

Experience conducting field level inspections/audits.

Able to coach and mentor field workers in pre-job hazard assessments.

Experience conducting incident investigations.

Good communication and people skills.

An excellent safety record.

Safety Requirements

Steel toe boots required, additional PPE to be provided by IRISNDT.

Pre-employment Fitness-to-Work evaluation will be required.

Drug and Alcohol clearance – IRISNDT will cover the cost of the test.
