New Courses Coming Soon – Silica Awareness & Contractor Management

Your ACSA continues to add new safety training courses to meet the needs of its stakeholders. We heard from several sectors of the construction industry that a silica awareness course was required, so we have developed a course to address this need. Our Silica Awareness course is designed to increase awareness of the hazards, risks, and controls related to respirable crystalline silica. This course will benefit workers, supervisors, and safety personnel with responsibilities related to or working around crystalline silica.

The ACSA’s first Silica Awareness course runs in Edmonton on Monday, April 9 and then in Calgary on Tuesday, April 24. Regional courses are scheduled for June.

Contractor Management is another new course we are introducing soon. This one-day course is designed for individuals who manage contractors, or work as a contractor. The course will be offered starting in June.
