ACSA’s Lakeland Regional Safety Committee held its second annual ‘Treads for Life’ community event on Saturday June 17th in Lloydminster.
Participating motorcyclists enjoyed the 340km ride on a beautiful sunny day, gathering at collection points and engaging with the community at regular checkpoints along the way. In conjunction with the ride, a 2.5km walk circling R.H Brekko Lake Park included a memorial lane signage walk remembering those we have lost to workplace incidents and disease.
Local radio station, The Goat helped to promote the event throughout the region and the community was able to enjoy a BBQ and free games for kids while waiting for the riders to return to the finish line.
The event raised $9300 for the Threads of Life charity, which is dedicated to supporting families after a workplace fatality, life-altering injury, or occupational disease.
