Physical Demand Analysis for the Electrical Industry

A Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) is a method of measuring the physical factors associated with specific positions or job function with limitations. The most common application of a PDA is to assess the capabilities of an individual to be able to return to pre-injury activities as soon as possible. To this end, the Alberta Construction Safety Association’s member companies, the Electrical Contractors Association, and Jason Shepherd Physical Therapy Inc. worked in harmony to develop these Physical Demands Analyses.

Employers and medical providers will be able to refer to the Physical Demands Analysis to determine the level of effort required to complete the work task in a safe, injury-free manner and without inflicting further stressors to an existing injury.
