Special Event: Bill 30 Update – Understanding the Impact

As Albertans get closer to the June 1st implementation of the Government of Alberta’s Act to Protect the Health and Well-being of Working Albertans, your ACSA co-hosted with BILD Alberta a panel session dedicated to identifying some of the impacts of the new legislation. The event, held on Friday, May 4th at the ACSA’s Edmonton facility, was attended by about 200 people and over 650 registered to watch via online streaming all across Alberta. An additional 75 people attended BILD Alberta’s big-screen viewing in Calgary.

The event started with a brief introduction from ACSA’s COO, Tammy Hawkins and greetings from Deputy Minister of Labour, Jeff Parr. BILD Alberta’s Executive Director, Carmen Wyton moderated the panel discussion around some of the broader elements of the Act, before dealing with some pertinent questions from the audience. Audience feedback was positive and appreciative given the discussion’s timeliness.

Panel members included:

ROB FEAGAN Executive Director, Occupational Health and Safety Program Delivery
ROSS NAIRNE Executive Director, Occupational Health and Safety Policy & Program Development
MARJ LANGKAMP Director, Workers Compensation Board
RYAN DAVIS Manager of Course Development, Alberta Construction Safety Association
